भारत में कृषि एक प्रमुख व्यवसाय है। भारत कृषि प्रधान देश है या आपने बचपन में पढ़ा होगा। किसानों की स्थिति भारत में सर्व विख्यात है लेकिन कई ऐसे फायदे हैं जो आपको किसान के रूप में बने रहने से सीधे तौर पर मिलते हैं। इनकम टैक्स के भरने का वक्त आ चुका है और यह वह समय है जब लोगों को अपनी कमाई का हिस्सा टैक्स के रूप में भरना है।
कृषि आय आयकर के अधीन नहीं है। कृषि आय आयकर अधिनियम की धारा 10 (1) के तहत कर योग्य नहीं है क्योंकि इसे किसी व्यक्ति की कुल आय के हिस्से के रूप में नहीं गिना जाता है। इसे आय के वैध स्रोत के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया गया है और इसमें मूल रूप से उन स्रोतों से आय शामिल है जिनमें कृषि भूमि, कृषि भूमि पर या उससे संबंधित भवन और कृषि भूमि से वाणिज्यिक उपज शामिल हैं।
इन प्रकार के कार्य को कृषि आय के अधीन रखा गया है।
- कृषि, भंडार कक्ष, आवासीय स्थान और आउटहाउस के लिए कृषि भूमि को किराये/पट्टे पर देना।
- नर्सरी में पौध या पौध के रूप में उगने वाले पेड़ों से अर्जित धन।
- कृषक या किसान द्वारा कृषि भूमि को किराये/पट्टे पर देना।
- कृषि भूमि के व्यावसायिक उपयोग के कारण कोई आय।
इस प्रकार के कार्यों पर कृषि कार्य होने के बावजूद थी इसे लिस्ट से बाहर रखा गया है और इन पर टैक्स लगेगा।
