एक क़ानून प्रावधान के अनुसार अब, कुवैत में पुलिस बल सीधा कामगारों को देश से बाहर नही निकाल सकते हैं, अब किसी ग़लती के बाद भी कामगारों को देश से निकालने के लिए इजाज़त आंतरिक मंत्रालय से लेनी होगी जो की आंतरिक मंत्रालय के underseceratery के द्वारा हस्ताक्षर किया जाना होगा.
KSHR ने इसे कुवैत में कामगारों के हितों की सुरक्षा के लिए एक बड़ा क़दम बताया हैं, और साथ ही उसने यह भी कहा की जितने भी देश से निकालने के आदेश पुलिस द्वारा जारी किए गए हैं, और बिना कोर्ट के आदेश के हैं उन्हें तुरंत स्थगित किया जाता है.
अब तक senior police ऑफ़िसर के द्वारा कामगारों या प्रवासियों को ग़लती करने पर देश से निकाला जाता था, वो अब बंद कर दिया गया हैं. आपकी जानकारी के लिए बता दे की कुवैत में प्रवासी कामगार लगभग 70% की संख्या में हैं, और ये क़दम कुवैत में एक बेहतर भविष्य के लिए उठाया गया हैं.
Kuwaiti police will no longer be able to deport expatriates without interior ministry approval under new rules published Thursday after officers expelled thousands over the past year.
The Kuwait Society for Human Rights (KSHR) said the move was a “step in the right direction” to protect the rights of the emirate’s 2.7 million expatriates, although it fell short of activists’ calls for an end to all deportations not ordered by the courts.
In April, last year Kuwait made a range of traffic offences punishable by deportation, including driving without a licence, a document impossible for many expats to obtain.
