The Dubai Police pulled a car out of the Dubai Creek after its driver lost control and drove into the water.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Qassib Al Naqbi, director of the maritime rescue division at Dubai Police, the command and control centre received an emergency call at 11.53pm about the incident that took place along Baniyas Street.
“A rescue team, including divers from Dubai Police, was immediately dispatched to the scene and reached the site within four minutes. They secured the driver who had already managed to break out of the sinking car and swim towards an iron ladder and climb up to the sidewalk,” Lt. Col Al Naqbi said.
Al Naqbi added that the rescue team called an ambulance to treat the driver, who sustained a minor injury.
“Our divers located the car, which was 37ft deep and 130 metres away from the crash site in an upside down position, and then lifted it out of the water using a crane,” Lt. Col Al Naqbi added.
Al Naqbi urged all motorists to take the necessary care and caution while driving and adhere to the traffic instructions and laws to ensure their safety.GulfHindi.com
