We use AI tools in parts of our production process, and we would rather say so plainly than have you wonder.
Where we use AI
- Drafting assistance — structuring and drafting routine reports from verified source material.
- Translation — between English, Arabic and Hindi, where the original statement was issued in another language.
- Summarising and editing — condensing long official documents, tightening copy, checking grammar.
- Headlines and metadata — generating candidate headlines and summaries, which an editor selects and edits.
Some routine reports — market figures, exchange rates, fixture-style updates — are assembled with AI assistance and published with limited human review. These are drawn from a known, structured source.
Where a human is always involved
Anything involving a named person, a contested claim, or original reporting is edited by a human before publication. The named byline on an article means a person stands behind it.
What we never do
- We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, events or documents.
- We do not publish AI-generated or AI-altered images as documentary photographs. Illustrative images generated by AI are labelled.
- We do not let an AI tool be the source of a fact. Where an article draws on AI-assisted research, the underlying facts are verified against primary sources in exactly the same way as any other story — see our fact-checking policy.
- We do not enter confidential source material into third-party AI tools.
Accountability
AI assistance changes nothing about who is responsible. Every article is the responsibility of GulfHindi.com and its editor, and every error is corrected under our corrections policy whether a human or a tool introduced it.
Reader-facing AI features
Where we offer an AI-powered feature to readers — a summary, a translation, a search answer — it is labelled as AI-generated at the point of use.
