Corrections Policy

We publish quickly, and quick publishing produces mistakes. What matters is what happens next.

How to report an error

Email [email protected] with the article link and what you believe is wrong. You do not need to explain why it matters — we will check it either way. Include a source if you have one; it speeds things up considerably.

What we do

  1. We acknowledge every correction request within 24 hours.
  2. Errors of fact are corrected as soon as they are confirmed.
  3. Every corrected article carries a dated correction note explaining what changed. We do not silently edit a published article to fix a factual error.
  4. Where an error was significant enough to change the meaning of a story, the correction is published as its own note, not only as an edit to the article.
  5. Where a story was wrong at its foundation, it is withdrawn and replaced with a note explaining why — the URL stays live so anyone who read the original finds the retraction.
  6. Repeated or serious errors are reviewed internally so the cause is fixed, not just the article.

What does not get a note

Typographical fixes, broken links, formatting and image replacements that do not change meaning are made without a note.

Headlines and social posts

If a headline was wrong, the correction note says what the headline said. Where a story was pushed to our social channels or as a notification, we post the correction on the same channel.

Escalating

If you are not satisfied with how a correction was handled, the formal route is our grievance redressal process, which is bound by statutory timelines.
