UAE attends 126th GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting in Bahrain

Economic integration and financial collaboration among Gulf nations took center stage as top officials gathered for a high-profile summit. The UAE GCC Financial meeting brought together regional leaders in Manama to discuss strategic priorities aimed at strengthening the Gulf's economic resilience and market efficiency.
During the 126th gathering of the Gulf Cooperation Council committee, the Emirati delegation played a pivotal role in reviewing key financial and customs initiatives. The discussions focused heavily on advancing the efficiency of the GCC Common Market, refining regulatory frameworks, and boosting overall trade and investment across member states.
Representing the nation, the UAE delegation was spearheaded by Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs. He was joined by several key officials, including Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla from the Federal Tax Authority, and Ali Abdullah Sharafi from the Ministry of Finance.
Key Agendas and Regional Cooperation
The committee evaluated a wide range of reports and updates from various specialized sub-committees. Participants reviewed the outcomes of recent meetings held by the GCC Central Bank Governors, the Customs Union Authority, tax administration heads, and the Common Market Committee.
Discussions also incorporated findings from technical working groups analyzing international best practices and global economic events.

Highlighting the UAE's steadfast dedication to regional collaboration, Al Hussaini noted that deepening economic ties is essential for constructing a robust and sustainable Gulf economy. He stressed the importance of adapting regional integration strategies to match fast-paced global economic transformations, the digital economy, and modern technological advancements.
The meeting concluded with a shared vision among member states to maintain continuous coordination through the GCC General Secretariat, ensuring that economic initiatives deliver practical and lasting benefits for businesses and citizens throughout the region.
